Education to Tuberculosis client

  • Instruct the client not to skip doses and to take the medication for the full length of the prescribed therapy.

  • Instruct the client to avoid tyramine-containing foods because they may cause a reaction such as red and itching skin, a pounding heartbeat, lightheadedness, a hot or clammy feeling, or a headache; if this does occur, the client should notify the physician.
  • Instruct the client in the signs of neurotoxicity, hepatitis, and hepatotoxicity.
  • Instruct the client to notify the physician if signs of neurotoxicity, hepatitis and hepatotoxicity, or visual changes occur.
