Immunosuppressant therapy:

Iatrogenic (treatment-induced) immunodeficiency may be a complicating adverse effect of chemotherapy or other treatment. In some cases, however, it’s the goal of therapy—for instance, to suppress immune-mediated tissue damage from an autoimmune disorder or to prevent rejection of an organ transplant. To induce immuno deficiency, a patient may receive various types of immunosuppressant drugs.
